It’s day 5 of the 7 days of Halloween cocktails and mocktails series! Set sail into spooky season with Blackbeard’s Berry Curse. This cocktail (or mocktail) is a blend of smashed blackberries, pomegranate juice, and a splash of tequila for a hauntingly refreshing twist!
Ingredients for Blackbeard’s Berry Curse:
- Blackberries
- Tequila (or vodka)
- Orange liqueur
- Pomegranate juice
- Fresh lemon juice
- Maple syrup (or more if you like sweeter)
- Sparkling water or ginger beer
- Blackberries, cinnamon sticks (optional garnish)

Description
This cocktail (or mocktail) is a blend of smashed blackberries, pomegranate juice, and a splash of tequila for a hauntingly refreshing twist

- blackberries (I used 6)
- 2 oz tequila (or vodka)
- 1/2 oz orange liqueur
- 1/3 cup pomegranate juice
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp maple syrup (or more if you like sweeter)
- top with sparkling water or ginger beer
- garnish with blackberries, cinnamon sticks (optional)
Instructions
- In a shaker, add blackberries and muddle. Then add tequila, orange liqueur, lemon & pomegranate juice, and maple syrup. Shake well to combine.
- Fill glass with ice and pour mix into glass. Top with sparkling water or ginger beer.
- Garnish with blackberries and/or cinnamon sticks (optional).
Notes
FOR MOCKTAIL: omit tequila and orange liqueur. Can add additional 1-2 tbsp of pomegranate juice and orange juice.
